Biochemistry Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Programme

Admission Requirement
To qualify for a postgraduate diploma degree in Biochemistry programme, candidates must possess
- Five O’ Level credit passes in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and any one relevant subject at not more than 2 sittings.
- B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry or related disciplines with at least a third class from Landmark University, Omu Aran or any other recognized University.
- A Higher National Diploma (HND) in relevant science disciplines with at a lower credit pass or grade point average of not less than 2.50.
Biochemistry Master of Science (M.Sc.)
Admission Requirement
To qualify for admission into the M. Sc. degree programme in Biochemistry, candidates must possess:
- A B. Sc. degree in Biochemistry or related disciplines with at least second class honours in the lower division (22) from Landmark University, Omu Aran or any other recognized University.
- Post-graduate Diploma from Landmark University or any other recognized University with a cumulative grade point average of not less than 65% average.
Biochemistry Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) Degree
Admission Requirement
To qualify for admission into the M. Phil. degree programme in Biochemistry, candidates must possess:
- B. Sc. degree in Biochemistry with at least second class honours, upper division (21) from Landmark University, Omu Aran or any other recognized University OR .
- M. Sc. degree in Biochemistry with 50-59% average score from Landmark University, Omu Aran or any other recognized University.
Biochemistry Doctoral (PhD.) Degree Programme

Admission Requirement
To qualify for admission into the Ph.D. degree programme in Biochemistry, candidates must possess:
- Five credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and any one relevant science subject at ‘O’ level.
- M. Sc. degree in Biochemistry with not less than a 60% average score from Landmark University, Omu-Aran or any other recognized University OR
- M. Phil. degree in Biochemistry with not less than a CGPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale from Landmark University, Omu-Aran or any other recognized University.
- Candidates on the M. Phil. programme can be converted into the Ph.D. programme after successfully completing the M. Phil. course work with a CGPA of at least 3.5.
- Adequate intellectual capacity, maturity and effective decision making and problem solving potentials.
Computer Science Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree Programme
Admission Requirement
- Graduates of Landmark University and other recognized universities with at least Second Class (Lower Division) in Computer Science.
- Candidates who possess Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Computer Science from approved universities and have scored at least 3.00 CGPA or 60% may be admitted for M.Sc. degree in Computer Science.
- All candidates must satisfy Landmark University matriculation requirements
Computer Science Doctoral (Ph.D.) Degree Programme
Admission Requirement
- Candidates who possess M. Sc. degree in Computer Science from Landmark University or any approved universities and have scored at least 60% may be admitted for Ph.D. degree in Computer Science.
- All candidates must satisfy Landmark University matriculation requirements
Industrial Chemistry Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Programme

Admission Requirement
Candidate must satisfy the general regulations governing postgraduate studies at Landmark University. The criteria for admission into the PGD programme will be as follows:
- All candidates seeking Admission into PGD Programme must have Five ‘O’ Level Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other science subject obtained in not more than two sittings from the following list: Biology, Geography, Further Mathematics, Agricultural Science and Computer Studies.
- Candidates with Bachelor degree from any University recognized by the Senate of Landmark University must obtain a minimum of pass degree in the relevant Science discipline.
- Holders of HND in relevant Programmes from approved institutions may also be considered for admission.
Industrial Chemistry Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree Programme

Admission Requirements
- Candidates seeking admission into Masters Programme of Landmark University must have Bachelor degrees from Landmark University or any University recognized by the Senate of Landmark University, with a minimum of second class (lower division) in Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry or other related disciplines
- Candidates with at least University PGD with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on the 5.0 scale from a related discipline may be considered for admission into academic Master’s degree programme.
- In addition, all candidates must demonstrate adequate intellectual capacity, maturity and effective decision making and problem solving potentials
Industrial Chemistry Doctoral (Ph.D.) Degree Programme

Admission Requirement
- Candidates seeking admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree Programme of Landmark University must possess the Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from any University recognized by the Senate of Landmark University in the relevant discipline. To qualify for direct entry into the Ph.D. degree programme, a candidate must have a minimum of 60% or equivalent CGPA of 4.00 on a 5.00 scale in the Master's (M.Sc/M.Tech) degree result.
- However, candidates who graduated with aggregate less than 60% or with equivalent CGPA of 3.50–3.99 on a 5.00 point scale in the Master's degree may be considered for M.Phil/Ph.D. programme. This shall be converted to full Ph.D. Programme on successful completion of coursework, examination and defence of the project work. The minimum duration of study for the award of Ph.D. degree is three academic sessions for full-time mode
Mathematics Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree Programme
Admission Requirement
- Graduates of Landmark University with a degree in Industrial Mathematics and at least a Second Class (Lower Division) is admissible.
- Graduates of other recognised Universities approved by the Landmark University Senate may be admitted provided the University matriculation requirements are met.
- Those who passed Postgraduate Diploma in Mathematics from any other approved university and have scored at least 3.00 CGPA or 60% can be admitted to M.Sc. Degree in Mathematics. Such candidate must have fulfilled University matriculation requirements
Mathematics Doctoral (Ph.D.) Degree Programme

Admission Requirement
This programme is open to candidates who have:
- Candidates of the University of Nigeria or of other recognized Universities who have obtained the Master degree appropriate for the proposed areas of study with a minimum of 3.50 grade point average on a 5-point scale or at least 60% average provided that satisfactory research work formed part of the Master Degree programme.
- All candidates must satisfy Landmark University matriculation requirements.
Microbiology
Areas of Specialization
Postgraduate Diploma programme is developed in priority areas of Microbiology depending on needs and demands provided the university runs NUC approved undergraduate degree programmes. Research projects may be in any of the under-listed broad areas of microbiology:
- Medical Microbiology
- Environmental Microbiology
- Food and Industrial Microbiology
- Pharmaceutical Microbiology
- Plant Pathology
Admission Requirement
The criteria for admission into the PGD programme will be as follows:
- All candidates must have five credit passes including English, Mathematics and three other relevant science subjects that may include Biology, Food and Nutrition Chemistry, Agricultural Sciences, Further Mathematics and Physics at ‘O’ Level.
- Candidates with Bachelor’s degree from an approved university must obtain a minimum of third class degree in the relevant/related science discipline i.e. Zoology, Botany (Plant Science), Biochemistry, Applied Biology and Biotechnology, Crop Science, Animal Sciences, Medical Laboratory Science, Science Laboratory Technology, Basic Medical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Nursing etc,.
- Holders of HND in relevant programmes from approved institutions with a minimum of Upper Credit with post 2 years work experience may also be considered for admission.
Microbiology Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree Programme
Areas of Specialization
Candidate can specialize in any of the areas of interest as in the approved programmes of individual universities:

- Pharmaceutical Microbiology

Admission Requirement
The criteria for admission into the Masters Programme (M.Sc.) will be as follows:
All candidates must have five credit passes including English, Mathematics and three other relevant science subjects at ‘O’ Level.
- Candidates with Bachelor’s degrees from an approved university in microbiology or related courses for masters in microbiology must obtain a minimum of second class lower division with a CGPA of 3.0/5.0 for an academic programme.
- Candidates with at least a third class degree from an approved university or HND and university PGD with CGPA of 3.5/5.0 may be considered for admission into the Master’s Degree programmes.
- All candidates must demonstrate adequate intellectual capacity, maturity and effective decision making and problem solving potentials.
Microbiology Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) Terminal M.Phil. Degree Programme
Areas of Specialization
M.Phil. programme can be developed in any specialized field of Microbiology depending on needs and demand provided the university runs NUC approved undergraduate degree programmes in the area e.g.

Admission Requirement
- Candidates must have five credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and any other relevant science subjects that may be Physics, Agricultural Sciences, Further Mathematics or Food and Nutrition at ‘O’ Level at SSCE, GCE and NECO in not more than 2 sittings.
- Candidates must possess a honour’s degree in Microbiology or related discipline from any recognized University.
- Candidates with at least an M.Sc. average grade score of between 50% - 59% in Microbiology or any related discipline from Landmark University/Covenant University or any recognized university are qualified for M.Phil. admission in Microbiology
Microbiology Doctoral (Ph.D.) Degree Programme

Admission Requirement
Candidates for Ph.D. admission must satisfy the following conditions:
- Candidates must have five credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and any other relevant science subjects that may be Physics, Agricultural Sciences, Further Mathematics or Food and Nutrition at ‘O’ Level at SSCE, GCE and NECO in not more than 2 sittings.
- Candidates with Bachelor’s degree from an approved university must obtain a minimum of second class lower division with a CGPA of 3.0/5.0.
- Candidates must have Academic Master’s degree in relevant areas of Microbiology that may include Medical Laboratory Science, Food Science, Medical and Basic Medical, Veterinary Sciences/Veterinary Medicine, etc., with a minimum CGPA of 4.0/5.0 and thesis score not lower than 60% (B grade)
- Candidate must have academic M.Phil. degree with a minimum average score of not less than 60% (B) and CGPA of 4.0-5.0 from any recognized university.
- Candidates must demonstrate adequate intellectual capacity, maturity and effective decision making and problem solving potentials.
Physics Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree Programme

Admission Requirement
- A candidate with a first degree in Physics, Engineering Physics, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related discipline from Landmark University with a minimum of second class lower division is admissible. However, graduates of other recognized Universities approved by Senate may be admitted. Candidates must fulfil the University matriculation requirements of (5) “O” Level Credits in English Language, Physics, Mathematics, and credits from any two of the following subjects (Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, Geography, and Further mathematics) in not more than TWO sittings.
- A candidate with a good postgraduate diploma (with CGPA > 3.00) from a recognized University acceptable to the University Senate may also be admitted into the Master Degree programme. Such candidate must have fulfilled the University’s Matriculation requirements.
Physics Doctoral (Ph.D.) Degree Programme

Admission Requirement
- Applicants must be holders of research Master degree in Physics or related discipline with a minimum of 60% or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score from a recognized University acceptable to the University senate. Such candidate must have fulfilled the University Matriculation requirements.
